Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Swansea Youth Service currently has the following volunteering opportunity: Key Objectives To be accountable to the DofE Development Officer and the Operating Authority for voluntary work undertaken within a DofE centre/programme To uphold the aims, objectives and standards of the DofE Award and the Swansea Youth Service To contribute to a balanced team of DofE volunteers who cover different aspects of the Award and ensure opportunities of sharing experience To ensure the DofE Unit works within the policies and guidelines set out by the Operating Authority To promote opportunities for young people to receive the training and developmental benefits obtainable from accessing a DofE programme     Principle Responsibilities:   To develop and maintain personal knowledge of the DofE and its current conditions and requirements To promote the DofE Award to young people To liaise with the Development Officer and the Operating Authority where appropriate To utilise promotional and operational literature To identify training needs with the Development Officer and Operating Authority To assist and discuss with young people in developing a DofE activity programme that meets their interests and needs To assist with administrative and operational procedures of the Operating Authority and the DofE To understand the insurance arrangements provided by the Operating Authority and the DofE To assist with recording participants’ progress with the DofE programme To assist where appropriate with expedition training and expedition trips To assist with planning and undertaking presentations of Award certificates and badges  Volunteers must be 18+
