Witness Service - Volunteers are trained to provide witnesses with information whilst they are waiting to give evidence. Volunteers DO NOT give legal advice. They liaise with court officials on behalf of the witnesses and keep witnesses up to date with the progress of the trial. They accompany witnesses into court if required to do so and always accompany witnesses into the video link room when they give their evidence. Volunteers have to undergo a CRB check before 'working' for the organisation

Witness service volunteers give free and confidential support and information to help witnesses and their supporters (such as family and friends) to deal with the experience of attending court to give evidence.
