The project aims to up-skill unemployed individuals in order for them to increase their self esteem and confidence, provide participants with the motivation and encouragement through new experiences to enable them to become more active members of their communities, engage more in local services, volunteer and learn new skills to help them become more employable.

Objectives:

  • Deliver 10 week programme
  • Deliver workshops and demonstrations to participants during the 10 week programme
  • Involve participants in the delivery of the workshops
  • Provide the participants with the confidence and skills to deliver their own workshops on the programme
  • Participants to learn new and develop some existing skills such as effective communication, organising people, managing situations and planning activities
  • Help participants to realise their own personal potential with challenging and stimulating activities

Proposal:

Deliver a 10 week programme to individuals within the Heads of the Valley area who are currently unemployed.  The course will include encouraging individuals to work as a team, planning, communicating and managing others, learning new skills i.e. first aid, cookery, leadership skills, assessing risks and organising others.

The project will provide participants insight for future job prospects.  It is hoped the programme will provide the right amount of skills, confidence and knowledge to look for the right job.  The programme will endeavour to replace lost confidence and self esteem in the individuals.  Every session will be based on participation and fun and participants will be expected to attend all sessions and workshops.
