Wise Up offers support and information to families from throughout South Wales who educate their children at home instead of sending them to school. Families decide to home educate for all sorts of reasons but many because of bullying in schools or because their child has Additional Learning Needs and so has struggled in a school setting. As a result of this, many of the children in our group have ALN and/or issues with low self-esteem and sometimes challenging behaviour. We run Tuesday Club at Port Talbot YMCA from 10am-4pm every Tuesday where families come together to take part in sports, music lessons, art and crafts, and classes including science, creative writing, sign language, first aid and much more. We also have a Youth Council where our young people can get their voices heard and take part in personal development workshops. In addition to this we run outdoor play days, trips and various other activities and provide information via our referene library, website and telephone and email support.

Driving families with additional needs to and from Wise Up activities.

Could be driver only or very welcome to stay and volunteer at activities too!
