Lleoliad: Swansea YMCA / other shared premises
Swansea Music Art Dance is a new and exciting community interest company – we have the potential to provide real job opportunities in the near future. Our main aim is to work within the community to revitalise the creative economy in Swansea and show how people can generate income and learn new skills through art, music and in particular digital technology. We work in regeneration areas with hard to reach and at risk groups.

Swansea Music Art Dance currently has the following volunteering opportunity:

Volunteer Project Worker required, tasks include the following:

  • To carry out daily and weekly tasks as directed by the board
  • Updating blogs, our website and social networking sites
  • Sending and preparing electronic newsletters and updates
  • Designing promotional materiel – under direction and mentoring from the directors
  • Writing copy - under direction and mentoring from the directors
  • Plugging artists work to our media contacts through the internet and face to face
  • Establishing future P.R contacts and attending meetings
  • Making first contact with agencies and people offering new opportunities
  • Other tasks relating to our audio visual or digital archive project

Skills required

We do not ask for an existing skilled person although in would suit someone who has experience in the above tasks or transferable skills.  However if an individual is motivated enough we would be more than happy to provide training.  As previously mentioned this is a great opportunity for a person to join an exciting community arts company who are making a difference in the creative economy in and around Swansea.  We can offer the right volunteers a chance to become part of our team learning new skills and gaining paid employment within the arts as our company grows.

Volunteers can be from age 16+.  CRB checks will be undertaken.  Training provided.
