Volunteers are vital to help the charity raise funds, inform people about its work and to increase the network of supporters. As a Fundraising Group Member you will make a real difference by joining an existing fundraising group and supporting and contributing to its activities helping to raise vital funds.

What does the role involve:

  • Working with the group helping to identify potential opportunities for fundraising events i.e. charity football matches, social evenings, fancy dress parties, quiz evenings, sponsored walks etc
  • Working with the group, planning and organising events e.g. investigating possible venues, assessing potential interest, considering health & safety issues etc
  • Working with the group to develop ideas, promote and advertise the event.
  • Identifying potential participants e.g. family, friends, community groups etc.
  • Using influencing skills to persuade people to donate venue, raffle prizes etc.
  • Liaising with group leader at all times.

What will you need to do the role:

  • Access to a land line telephone or mobile to contact supporters.
  • Supporting promotional material will be provided.

What will we give you:

  • Respect your commitment and value your contribution.
  • Keep you informed about how your contribution has helped the charity.
  • Support, if needed, from local staff and volunteers.
  • Provide appropriate materials to enable you to undertake your role effectively.
  • The opportunity to develop new skills and/or utilise existing ones, meet new people and gain a sense of achievement from helping the community.
