Yr amcan gyntaf oedd i recriwtio gwirfoddolwyr i helpu pobl fwyaf bregus, i ymweld â nhw yn aml a chynnig cyfeillgarwch a chwmpeini, i gadw cysylltiad â'r byd tu allan a hefyd i wneud tasgau ymarferol fel siopa ac ymweld â'r llyfrgell.Mae'r Biwro yn gwasanaethu ardal mwy na Y Drenewydd yn unig, yn cynnwys Llanidloes, Trefeglwys, Caersws, Llangurig, Aberhafesp, Llandinam a Betws.

Amcanion y Biwro yw:
