Platform 2 provides fully funded 10 week working placements for people aged between 18-25 in countries such as India, Ghana, Peru and South America. We then support volunteers to tell their stories and change their world.
Platform 2 currently has the following volunteering opportunities:
Volunteers aged 18-25 with a valid UK passport needed for 10-week long overseas volunteering trips to places such as India, Ghana, South Africa and Peru.
This opportunity is fully funded by the Department for International Development and run by Christian Aid and BUNAC. It is aimed specifically at those people who wouldn't usually get a chance to travel overseas. You'll be living and working with a group of 10-15 other UK volunteers in local communities working on projects such as teaching, construction, conservation or child care. Support will be provided to you before, during and after the placement.
All expenses are paid but you will need to pay your own travel expenses to attend your initial interview (if selected).
Project work can be physically demanding, so a good level of fitness is required. A team playing attitude and flexibility are also valuable attributes.
Pre trip briefing in the form of a 1-day workshop and post trip training in how to communicate their experiences will be given. Volunteers will be V Accredited.
Volunteers must be 18-25. Disclosures will be undertaken. Training provided.
